Paris, 22nd september 2024
VNCT successfully organised a joint VIETNAM stand to take part in the largest Francophone tourism trade show in Europe IFTM TOP RESA (17th-19 th September 2024), PARIS.
Over three days, more than 30,000 visitors from the tourism sector explored the show with 1400 brands from 170 participating destinations. Concerning the Vietnam stand, there were traditional performance, 11 companies, 8 sponsors, hundreds of professional meetings, 1 seminar, 3 events organised within the framework of the show with more than 500 participants, and nearly 20 articles concerning the presence of the Vietnam stand at IFTM 2024.
Let’s summarise some facts and figures:
1. Participants
The joint VIETNAM stand organised by the VNCT with the participation of the CCV (Vietnam Cultural Centre in France) brought together ten companies from Vietnam and France: Vietnam Airlines, Vietravel, Image Travel & Events, Pacific Voyages, Typic Travel – DMC Local Vietnam, Vietnam Original Travel, Paradise Vietnam, Asia Aventura, Mekongtouch DMC, Ftrip Việt Nam, Pilgrimage resort & Spa.
2. Activities
VNCT cooperated with the Centre Culturel du Vietnam en France (CCV) to organise traditional Vietnamese music performances on the stand as well as three parallel events taking place during the fair, including :
a. Stand opening – VIETNAM BREAKTIME
On the afternoon of September 17th, Mr Dinh Toan Thang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to France, attended the opening of the stand during the VIETNAM BREAKTIME event in the presence of IFTM representatives, European and French tourism directors from Thailand, Malaysia, representatives of APST and Atout France from France and many journalists and businesses. They all expressed particular interest in Vietnam’s return to the French IFTM and particularly appreciated the fact that the VNCT association had been able to bring together businesses to unite in the promotion of Vietnamese tourism, thus creating a strong point in relation to the other destinations present at the French tourism industry’s most important trade show.
b. Concert « Melodies of Peace »
With nearly 300 spectators organised at the CCV on 14th September, prior to the opening of the IFTM, contributed to Vietnam’s cultural and tourism promotion programme.
c. Gala diner « Bonjour Vietnam »
The gala dinner on the theme “Bonjour Vietnam” was held on the evening of 18th September at the Vietnam Cultural Centre (VCC), attracting a large crowd with nearly 200 guests from travel agencies and companies specialising in travel to Vietnam. On this occasion, Mr Dinh Toan Thang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam in France, Mrs Anoa-Suzanne Dussol, Ambassador of Tourism of Vietnam in France, Mr Tang Thanh Son, Deputy Director of the Cultural Centre of Vietnam in France and Mr Nguyen Tien Hoang, European Director of Vietnam Airlines, expressed their full support for the activities of VNCT in promoting Vietnamese tourism.
3. Charité
At the VIETNAM BONJOUR! gala, after the program presenting Vietnamese tourism and culture, VNCT and CCV organised an auction where the top prize was a flight ticket to Vietnam sponsored by Vietnam Airlines for the victims of typhoon Yagi. The money raised will be sent to the Ministry of Culture who will send to Vietnam Fatherland Front to be transferred to the needy.
Ms Le Y Linh, Director of the Vietravel France office and President of VNCT, also took part in the « What’s new to sell in Asia » seminar organised by IFTM, with over 100 companies taking part. VNCT promoted the latest destinations and products in Vietnamese tourism, gave an update on the aeronautical sector in Vietnam and gave an update on the situation of tourism services after typhoon Yagi.
4. Sponsors
In addition to gifts from companies participating in the stand, the above events received strong support from sponsors, including Vietnam’s most luxurious hotels such as Alya Nhatrang, Potique hotel Nhatrang, Furama resort Đà Nẵng, MGallery Yên Tử, as well as establishments such as Hoàng Su Phì lodge, Silk hotel, Mai Chau lodge. As well as companies Thanh Bình jeune and Europe Asia Exchange.
